Count down to Primer

I got my supplies for Primer Nationals...aka low carb protien bars. Every time I go to one of these out of town car shows I usually forgoe eating for drinking heavily resulting in my getting outrageously drunk. So I have enough for 2 days if I eat nothing else.

Faux Sauerbraten

I'm makeing a kind of faux Sauerbraten recipe cause I'm way too lazy to devote three days to making an authentic one. I actaully made it last night and refrigerated it over night to reheat today cause that makes it taste better. This technique also works exceptionally well for Chili, Curry and Chicken soup.

I may look gross but it was pretty darn tasty..."R" loved it I think I may surpris him with a plate at work tomorrow.
I also got a really nice bottle of wine. I bought it in this neato little gormet shop down the Street from the Yarn Garden where they think I am from outerspace cause I requested some rough scrathcy yarn for a project for a friend. That's what he wanted what can I do. They made fun of me slightly even when I repeatedly stated that the rough yarn is a request from a friend.

My fancy dinner

Anyways I got the size 13 circular needles for the Felting class tomorrow. Yes I actaully got off my ass and signed up for a class to expand my creative outlets.
I want to make a bag with bamboo handles with an anchor on the front. I need to branch out from putting skulls all over everything and most cool patterns have been WAY overdone (It Stars, brass knuckles, lightning bolts, cherries) and I thought a really cool anchor would look cool in white on a bright blue bag. Hopefully I can get it done in time for the Group Felting. We're going down to the laundry mat on mass and felting our little hearts out.
On a sad note I seriously messed up the second side of the HamburgularSkullySkiSweater and had to frog the ENTIRE thing and start over....sigh. At least I have a few months before sweater season.

How to sneak Margaritas into SunSet Junction

Gatoraide bottle. I made a bunch of Margaritas and took them into Sunset Junction...a luke warm margarita and Hank 3...life was happy. We went with a bunch of people and I ran into some people I hadn't seen on a long time.
I totally feel into the Indie 103 Booth. It was and accident. I was eating a turkey leg and I thought the booth had a railing along the side but it turned out just to be a banner..I tried to lean on it and boom down I went. I have a really stupid looking bruise on my tail bone.
Anyways...tonight is my first time at the Silver Lake Stitch n' Bitch. I'm excited.
Gotta do a car switch.
ps. the above pic is from the date we had at Hot Wings! It's a beautiful thing.

Sleepy Head

I am so tired and a stupid gnat bit me on my face at roller derby last night. What a super first class bummer. Also I am not happy with how the neck hole on my first side of HamburgularSkullySkiSweater turned out. Perhaps I'm in a bit over my head who knows. Maybe a trip to Stitch Cafe for some expert advice is in order.
"R" FINALLY got the plumbing done and witht he exception of a small leak by the utility sink it's great. The New Low FLow Toiletis here. I don't like it....it is tricky to get it to flush properly, but it's HUGE though....whatever a free toilet is a free toilet I suppose.
Ugh I just want to be finished with this sweater but I've barely started the second side. Now my Friend wants a scarf with skulls but I SO don't have time for that and my job got pushed back till NOVEMBER FOR GOD'S SAKE so now I'm up the creek and funemployed...fuck. Well gotta get in the shower...Sunset Junction is today and we're on the Cramps Guest List I found out...oh the life of a rock star.

Awesome sorta date night

We went to Hot Wings in Glendale last night for Buffalo wings. It was pretty good except our waitress hated us. Seriously it's not just me being paranoid. She refused to refill my iced tea untill like the 3rd request. I wasn't being too demanding...just really really thirsty. Besided that it was great. It's no secret that I'm a fool for Hot Wings. They are the perfect food...and it's ok to eat with your hands. Normally I'm not that sloppy of an eater but all bets are off when it comes to Hot Wings.
After we walked across the street to Damons fo Mai Tai's. Actaully "R" had Mai Tais I had a shot of Patron and a rum and diet soda. I love Damons. We had a super sweet bartender.

Some fun pictures

Last Sunday was the Hollywood Hotrods Show. Saw lots of cool cars. Saw a bunch of Cool People...watched "R" and Mr. Nik drink Mai Tais at Elephant bar. (Nik was real gun ho about going to the same resturant we went to last year and would not accpet Islands as a substitute) The funny thing is that this is the only picture I took the whole day

That's "R" and Nik enjoying that "New Vans Smell"

SKULLY WRIST BAND!

Fianlly got some photos uploaded of the Skully Wrist warmer...it's WAY too big but this was my first attempt at Fair Isle so I'd have to say it's not that bad.

So we went for Vegan food in Los Feliz last night. I'll have to say it was pretty yumm-o-rific. I got this AWESOME salad with broccoli and peanuts and avacado. It pretty much was the only thing on the menu I could eat (Hello Low Carb Diet) but I was quite satisfied. "R" got the pad thai and made the mistake of ordering it extra spicy. He made kind of a big deal about it. I think they went into the kitchen and WAY over did it just for fun.
What they brought out made his eyes water and his forehead sweat. They kept asking "Is that spicy enough for you? IS IT???" After a few bites he decided a glass of water was in order. He Finished it and said it was the second best Pad Thai he'd ever had...Go VEGAN! I got a menu they deliever....veagn delievery.
On the way back to the car we ran into those fabulous flyin' Poubelle twins (www.deuxfilles.net) on their way to the seamstress. They're sweet I adore them and not just because they could probably kick my ass six ways till Sunday either. Can't wait till the Next Lucha Vavoom but I don't get to drive anymore cause my Wormy Ex is in charge of that...oh well.
We went for drinks at Johnny's bar...a few glasses of wine. "R" had like 5 beers. I miss Beer. I occassionally get the Michelobe ultra lite but it's kind of like Why Bother beer.
Ok now I HAVE to get back to shaping the neck hole on the HAMBURGULARSKULLYSKISWEATER!

New Blog and the New Hamburgler Sweater

Since Blog Thing is a total pain in my rear I've switched to blogger.com. Ok so I'm starting a new Project. I have to spend today and tomorrow babysitting R's House while the plumber is here, making sure he dosen't wreck the joint and so forth so I've decided to take this opportunity to start my first sweater. The Hamburgler Skully. Why is it called that...well...
I went to the Little Knittery in Los Feliz with the soul purpose of getting yarn to do the Skully Sweater from Stitch 'n Bitch. Well I found this awesome alpaca bulky yarn...the only problem is that they didn't have enough black...but the had black and white so a solid black sweater has now become a black and white striped sweater...it's kinda looking like the Hamburgler from the Mc. Donalds commercials. Si instead of doing two big skulls on the sleeves I'm doing a series of Fair Isle skulls across a stripe on the chest...hence Skully.
