School

School is good. I made a life cast of a nose yesterday...I would have taken photos but my partner had STREP THROAT (why he came to class running the risk of infecting us all is beyond me ) and I spent all my time trying not to have him breath on me.
I'm scared I'm going to get ill.
I'm not sure if I like anyone in my class....half of them seem like they don't want to be there.
I am learning though and it's only been one day.
I have a sort of base idea for my final project.

Munch Munch

I'm Munching on cereal and drinking my famous jet fuel coffee. It's 6:30 am and I've been up for 15 min catching up on my blogs. My "not Kit" is packed up and by the door. I'm not working to day though I booked some weekend stuff. I'm going back to SCHOOL
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
FX school to be exact. 8am I'm going to sit in a room filled with toxic chemicals and dangerous equipment and try not to get that attitude I get when I think I'm more qualified than the other people in the room I've been known to be an arrogant prick at times). I will not wear Any fx shop t-shirts to class...I'm not going to be an asshole. I'm here to learn, I'm here to learn.
In other news I made chicken on my new amazing grill Burbon chicken with grilled zuchini...Hey aunt Purl. Got a surplus of Zukes? Send them to me...the DSB and Nik loved the grilled Zukes. I got these Jack Daniels wood chips...when I soaked them the laundry room smelled like a bar. Marinate the chicken in my secret special brine with a bit of burbon tossed in for good measure and rub with Burbon sauce and Miss Kat's Chicken Crack Rub and you've got a meal fit for a king of one stressed out knitter and two guys who finished putting together a 32 for chassis.
In knitting news I am working on a shrug for a friend and it's FLYING off the needles. Seriously I would have had it doen by now but I took a few days off. I'm totally gonna finish it this evening. It's the Retro Redux by Mercedes Tarasovich Clark from Lace Style.
I know Mercedes from my GA days. She's rad!
Kisses poodles...I need to take a shower and find a pair of my crappy jeans to wear,

Neato

Short post...
So ok I saw my mom today and she started telling em about this Awesome wrap she saw in a Chi chi Poo poo shop in Norther Cali that she want's me to knit her somthing similar. Unfortunatly she didn't take any photos but she described it to me and agreed to let me try and re-create it from her description. I'm excited, also she said it looked like it was made from fairly bulky yarn.
Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside...so we have a Yarn Store Crawl date.
For the record my mother is the woman who taught me to knit. She is also an AMAZING Quilter and Needlepointer and Pancake maker. Yeah we're crafty like that.
I guess it means alot that she came to me to re-create somthing she coveted, that she has such faith in my skills to make a cabeled rectangle.

By the way...I went to a Ninja party.

So I went to the Cookie A. Sock class at Unwind. I found it very informative...she certainly knows her stuff.

I get the feeling she didn't expect the rock star treatment she recieved i.e people bringing patterns for her to sign and wanting pictures with her. I think it looks like she's a little afraid of me and my gigantic biceps.

Also the DSB and I had a romantic dinner to celebrate the cutting off of one particullarly toxic person who has been making our lives miserable for some time....it's just nice to move on.

there's two double doubles in that bag plus the biggest Diet Coke EVER!!! I love how I try and offset my big greasy cheese burger with diet coke. It was yum...we live a charmed life.
Also I've been revisiting an old UFO

Sock on the water....See people I really do knit! I finished that sock on the plane ride home at the crack of dawn...I had a goal! The DSB thought I was insane taking the sock on the boat but I assured him it was only for photo purposes.
I mean how could I knit when I have This to look at!?

We also went to the wine country. Oregon has some AMAZING wines, lots of really good Pinot Noirs and Syrah's.

This was a wine shop that was in an old bank...they keep the wine in the vault! I had a hard time getting this picture cause another wine store parton who obviously been sampling the wine a bit too much kept jumping in front of the camera and doing silly poses...it got old really fast.

Baaaack from Va-Cay

Ok so I'm back from Beautiful Portland Oregon!
te DSW and I had such an amazing time drinking wine, riding around on the boat, eating AMAZING food and....drinking more wine!
The Portland area has some amazing wine county.
we hit Rex Hill, one of my presonal favs, Domaine Serene which is pricy but if you hear what goes into producing their wine you'll gladly pay it...it's amazing sutff, and laurel Crest or somthing which I remember from my last trip and it's run by the most amazing wonderful people and we boughta bunch of sparkling wine.
I have PICTURES and will upload them later with a looooong post...did I mention I got a new camera?
